Awards & Scholarships

Through its awards program, Region 6 recognizes outstanding achievements and showcases the successes of its NAI members who work to advance the profession of interpretation. Region 6 Awards are presented at the annual Region 6 Workshop. Each spring prior to that workshop, members can submit nominations for the awards. Nominations forms and criteria are available here (Microsoft Word Document).  Nominations for 2011 must be submitted no later than November 15. A complete list of award categories is available here.  Contact NAI Region 6 Awards Chair Laura Motley for more information.

The goal of the Freeman Tilden Scholarship Program is to recognize students studying in the field of interpretation (i.e. biology, parks and recreation, wildlife management, outdoor education, history, museum studies, etc) who have demonstrated academic and professional success and have the potential to make an outstanding contribution to the field of interpretation.  Scholarships are available each year to both undergraduate and graduate students.  Applications are available here (Microsoft Word Document).  Applications for 2012 must be postmarked by October 31, 2011.  Contact NAI Region 6 Scholarship Chair Leigh Spencer for more information.
