This workshop will explore how to put together and present a
painless PowerPoint. Not painless for you; painless--even enjoyable--for
your audience. We will revisit some of the basic principals of putting
together a engaging interpretive audio-visual program, and discover how to
apply these principals to a PowerPoint presentation. We will go through
the steps and processes necessary to avoid the common mistakes that can
absolutely ruin a presentation (Missing audio or video, Font changes, etc.).
It is not the purpose of this workshop to be an introductory PowerPoint
class and to go through the basics of how to technically assemble a PowerPoint
program. Rather, it will concentrate on how to use the features of
PowerPoint, which you already know, to make a successful interpretive
presentation, and perhaps introduce you to a few new features. We will do
this using PowerPoint 2003, but the most of things learned will be applicable
to all versions of PowerPoint.
If you have your own laptop computer with PowerPoint on it, please feel free to
bring it with you.
2. Mystery Trip Extravaganza
Monday February 22 - 9 a.m.
Meet at Registration Desk
Ok, so
you are here early? Looking to kill a couple of hours on Monday morning before
the official meetings begin?
The
Region VI staff has set up a few nearby mystery adventures that will get you
out and about, but back for the start of the festivities at noon. Some will be
self-led (staff will provide information); some will have a leader. All will be
free and nearby, with informal carpool transportation.
What and
where exactly will these trips be? Dress for the weather, come by after
breakfast and find out! (A list of
possibilities will also be posted at registration when you arrive.)
