Eureka Moments!

Presented without comment (because frankly, so many of them are completely baffling) — scenes from your 2011 NAI Region 6 Workshop in Eureka Springs, Arkansas.  Thanks to John Miller and Kelly Farrell for sending us the pictures!

UPDATE: The slideshow takes a little while to load, but it will appear below shortly.  In the meantime, go make yourself a sandwich or something… And if you finish the sandwich and it still hasn’t loaded, leave me a note in the comments.

Fishy

Those of you who aren’t loyal readers of Interpretation by Design (which you totally should be) may have missed Best Western’s welcome to all Region Sixers:

It's like regular interpretive training, but with those plastic lobster bibs.

NAI Region 6 2012, February 26-29, Austin, Texas

NAI Region 6 2012

The location and dates have been set for the 2012 NAI Region 6 Workshop.  The workshop is titled “Beyond the Limits– Interpreting with Independence and Innovation”, and I’ll be posting more information on it very soon.

And though the call for presentations has yet to be issued, I’d like to go ahead and call dibs on “Interpretation, the Matthew McConaughey Way”.  It’s gonna smell awesome.

News from Arkansas

So I’ve been hanging out on the new Region 6 Facebook page, trying to catch up on what happened at the annual workshop.  I usually only go on Facebook when I want to sneak a peek at Director John Miller’s fatherly and reassuring silvern tresses.  Those shimmering locks are like little moonbeams shining straight into my soul and OH MY GOD, WHAT HAVE YOU PEOPLE DONE???

Why do you even have barber tools with you? Just IN CASE you want to destroy something beautiful?

This desecration occurred because Region Sixers raised enough money to send one lucky member to the upcoming NAI National Workshop.  So while John’s hair made the ultimate sacrifice, lots of you sacrificed monetarily to support interpretation.  That’s pretty cool.  Congratulations to Tara Humphreys of Texas, who won the workshop registration… I hope you can live with the guilt.

The New Guy

Welcome back, Region Sixers!  Did you enjoy the workshop in Eureka Springs?  Really?  Really???  Yes, that is quite embarassing.  No, I’m sure no one will remember.  Anyway…

I’ve officially taken over webmaster duties now and I’ve already started mucking the place up.  So take a look around, and leave a comment to let me know what you think.  I’m always open to new ideas.

The comments section is also a nice place to show some gratitude to your outgoing webmaster, Teresa Randall.  Thanks for all you help, Teresa!
