Spend 6-18 months in Central Nevada working at the California National Historic Trail Interpretive Center in Elko, NV developing interpretive programs surrounding the California Trail experience and its related themes for the general public. The position will contribute to the appreciation and preservation of historic and cultural sites and work to forge strong community partnerships and enhance sustainable tourism in the region. This is a great opportunity to gain experience in the field of interpretation by helping to establish programs and implement the exhibit plan at this brand new facility.

The intent of the Interpretive Student Aide program is to provide currently enrolled high school and college students with an excellent opportunity to work as a para-professional and to provide public information in a park visitor center and surrounding parklands. These paid positions are designed for students considering a career in the environmental education/naturalist park profession while supplementing their current coursework in natural science and/or cultural history. In addition to gaining natural and cultural history information relating to parks, students will develop interpretive skills in this naturalist career training position.
