We are pleased you are interested in further training as an
interpreter.
It is our goal to contribute to the quality of interpretation by
increasing the number of conference/workshop opportunities available to our
members. We believe attending a conference/workshop is usually stimulating and
“keeps the internal fires lit”.
Below you will find the Region 9 Scholarship application. If you have any questions at all about the application, please feel free to contact me.
If you are mailing your application, you will need to send the 5 copies asked for on the application. If you can send the application as a file (or files) by email, you do not need to send 5 copies.
The scholarship committee has decided not to ask our applicants to send tax forms as part of their financial statement; so it is important that you be as candid as possible about your financial NEED for this scholarship. We do ask for some statement of income, however.
By accepting this scholarship, you are committing to: A) volunteer at the conference/workshop (there are many options available); B) submit or contribute to an article for Westwinds that explains what you gained from the experience. You will also be inelegible for other scholarships offered this year.
Again, I am available to answer any questions you may have. Good luck to you.
Sincerely,
Nancy Hadlock -Region Nine Scholarship Chair
